Read All About It
The Newseum is Washington's homage to the media, so it made a fitting place for me to spend Valentine's Day.
This is part of the Berlin Wall. The story of the east west divide dominated my childhood, so it was extraordinary be able to see and touch it.
Here's a piece of the west side
and this the east.
The museum has collection of iconic newspaper stories from all over the world. While we are celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary, it's odd to see a photo of a famous couple who married five months after us. Their marriage turned out less happily, of course.
The Newseum has a moving tribute to the journalists who covered 9/11.
All TV news reporters have to start somewhere....
Some very apt souvenirs in the store, but here's something I certainly don't want...
